This Micmac texts presented in this document range in content from an
oral history of the coming of the first Europeans to the shores of Cape
Britons Island, and the changes in lifeways that followed, to a
traditional tale of conflict with neighboring peoples. Gluscap, a Micmac
and Maliseet culture hero, is the subject of another story. A ghost
story, the tragic tale of an orphan child, a few hunting stories, and a
short recorded conversation round out the volume intended for readers of
Micmac and interested non-speakers of the language.
